Make a Difference.....
Too often our best intentions are set aside due to busy schedules. DGT's new Membership Circle provides extra incentives to help you live your big-hearted goals all year long.

  1. Kindness on Your Calendar:  Exclusive e-mails help you zero in on one small action, story or conversation each week.
  2. Personal Training:  Like any good coach, our expert Big-Hearted Families™ Team will be available to you to answer questions, help you overcome challenges, and generate personalized service ideas for your family.
  3. Free E-Book:  Our latest book, 12 Fun, Creative Birthday Parties That Give Back by Rachel Chrastil and Jenny Friedman, will inspire kids and parents to creatively re-imagine the joy a birthday party can bring. You'll see that birthday-related happiness can spread further, last longer, and do more good than you ever thought possible!
  4. The "Do Good Dozen" Challenge:  This irresistible project lets your family be part of 12 service projects or acts of kindness -- one per month.  Complete the challenge and win a free month of our Book Club!
  5. Access to Our Lively, Engaged Facebook Group:  Our greatest resources are the families who work with us year after year - like you! Now we're creating a tool to help bring the wisdom of these families together. As part of the Membership Circle, you'll have opportunities to be part of this shared wisdom.

More Reasons Membership Makes a Difference

  • More good, all year long. Our unique resources will keep kindness on your priority list, helping your family meet immediate community needs and practice empathy year-round.
  • More time together. Family time is another yearly resolution that often gets cheated. Committing to regular family acts of kindness means more family time, more cherished memories and more meaningful connections.
  • More Doing Good Together™, everywhere. Your membership support will help us continue to provide our free resources to more communities around the country.

Visit the DGT store to sign up for your year-long membership! It's only $24.99 for the entire year.

Talk About It.....

As you and your children look ahead to the habits and priorities you want to pursue in 2015, consider these questions:

  • Why do you think it's important to spend some of your time giving to the community?
  • What kinds of issues and causes do you care about most? What can we do to help with the cause?
  • We often set goals about what we want to do, but let's talk about the kind of people we want to be. What four character traits do you hope will describe you in the coming year?
  • What actions can you take to embody those character traits? What can you do to earn those adjectives?
Learn About It.....

These two videos and two books will set a thoughtful tone during this season of reflection and new beginnings:
's New Year
  • Kid President's 25 tips to make the year awesome is as funny as it is inspiring.
  •  Squirrel's New Year's Resolution by Pat Miller. Join Squirrel and The Stars Will Still Shine  her woodland friends as she discovers what it means to make a  promise to herself.
  • The Stars Will Still Shine by Cynthia Rylant. This beautiful, poetic book provides calm and peace for anyone facing a new start or challenging times.

"Let our New Year's resolution be this: we will be there for one another as fellow members of humanity, in the finest sense of the word."

Goran Persson, Former Prime Minister of Sweden
