DGT's signature event is probably our Family Service Fair, where parents and children get to complete ready-made service projects that benefit those in need. It's a fun way for schools, faith groups, businesses and others to help introduce families to the "giving back" habit. And it's a festive setting for parents to inspire empathy, social awareness and community engagement in their kids. The fairs are so popular, we've created a manual and online toolkit so any group can host it on their own.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We're grateful for all you do for your family and community.

MEANINGFUL, TEAM-BUILDING PROJECTS
|Make a Difference.....|DGT's Family Service Fair does triple duty: it builds camaraderie within your organization, makes a difference for others, and conveys the joy of service. The event consists of 5 to 10 "booths" or "stations," each one offering the supplies to complete a simple, hands-on service project to benefit a nonprofit, such as:
Of course, DGT continues to be available to organize these events for you, and oversee all the details. But if you're inclined to host a fair on your own, you'll want our new kit. It contains project instructions, supply lists, budget guildlines , templates for handouts and signage. You'll also find "extras" like our unique Kindness Cards, Passport to Giving, Homeless Care Kit labels, Take-a-Compliment flyer and reflection questions to get attendees thinking about the big ideas of hunger, homelessness, aging and environmental stewardship.
- Assembling snack bags for Ronald McDonald House families.
- Creating bracelet kits for hospitalized children.
- Making chew toys for shelter animals.
- Decorating placemats for Meals on Wheels recipients.
- Making sandwiches for people who are hungry.
Talk About It.....
Learn About It.....
- Emphasizes your group's commitment to community engagement.
- Helps children learn kindness, compassion, tolerance and good citizenship by doing helpful projects.
- Shows children they can make a difference and expands their understanding of social responsibility.
- Gives families meaningful time to tackle big ideas and express shared values.
- Benefits needy recipients by producing critical items like sandwiches, blankets and hygiene kits.
There are two ways to bring this awesome event to your school, faith group, community group or business 1) Buy our new DIY manual and online toolkit, or 2) Hire DGT to plan and execute the entire event, including identifying projects, purchasing supplies, setting up stations, creating signage, cleaning up, and delivering completed items.
"Our parents, students and teachers were so inspired and energized by [our Family Service Fair]. As a PTA officer, I have never been thanked so many times and received so much positive feedback about a program as I have received about this one. This event really touches people. We were proud to be the first school that we know of in the Atlanta area to host such an event, and we hope it is just the beginning for us."
