In this interactive Zoom-based workshop for DGT Members, participants will have the opportunity to connect with other big-hearted families, brainstorm, ask questions, and get inspired for a year full of doing good. Sarah Aadland our Big-Hearted Families Director will facilitate this lively discussion as you plan your family’s big-hearted year.
Live-streamed 45-minute kindness events will take place at 10 a.m. CT on the first four Saturdays in October, from Oct. 2nd through Make a Difference Day, Oct. 23rd. (Sign up for any or all sessions! Replay access will be available to registrants.)

Creating fun, meaningful ways for families to make a difference can be a joyful opportunity to inspire the next generation of peacemakers, all while making a meaningful impact on local communities.
In partnership with Global Peace Women, join Director of DGT's Big-Hearted Families™ Program, Sarah Aadland, MPP, who works to connect families and organizations with the tools they need to raise kids who care and contribute and Ah-Na Mira, GPWLA graduate, Philippines and GPW Philippine Coordinator, who initiated rice-distribution efforts to feed neighboring families during the height of the COVID19 outbreak in 2020.
Doing Good Together works to empower families to raise caring, engaged children by providing innovative activities, resources, and support to help make empathy and "giving back" a natural part of life's early lessons, setting the stage for compassionate, ethical characteristics in our future leaders.
This auction is critical to raising the funds and growing the awareness that enables us to do even more good, together.
Discover simple, practical strategies and unique, creative materials for engaging the families in your school, faith group, after-school program, or community organization as partners in service. Walk away with an action plan for encouraging families (of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds) to integrate service into their lives and share the value of service with their children.

Plenty of free parking is available (see RED ARROWS.) Entrance is at the GREEN ARROW. Please avoid parking in the reserved (BLUE ARROW) lot and also avoid parking at Nicollet Island Inn, west of the Pavilion.
Hands-on service projects to make on the spot, similar to those offered in our DGT Family Service Fairs. Projects will benefit important causes including supporting new mothers, fostering literacy, building food security, welcoming new immigrant neighbors, and caring for animals and the environment
Giant cooperative kindness art installation
Fun kid-friendly activities including T-shirt printing with The Teehive, temporary "kindness tattoos," a photo booth, and a service dog "meet & greet."
Multicultural performances from COMPAS and Kalpulli Ketzal Coatlicue, Duniya Drum and Dance, and Tay Phuong Lions, along with instrument demos from MacPhail Center for Music
Clothesline of donated socks: If you can, please bring a pair of new socks (any size) to hang on our community Sock Line. All socks will be donated to Simpson Housing Service.
Displays of big-hearted resources and products
Festival food and drink (e.g. corn dogs, mini donuts, and lemonade) available for purchase

DGT™ Service Project Stations with projects that help others:
Decorating lunch bags for Metro Meals on Wheels. The lunch bags will be used to serve meals to homebound senior citizens.
Making fidgets for The Family Partnership. The fidgets will be used by TFP therapists in their work with children in crisis.
Writing welcome notes to new Americans served by the International Institute of Minnesota.

Items from generous donors will be available for online bidding March 31st (5am) through April 18th (11:45pm). Final bidding (including proxy bids made online) will take place at the event on the evening of April 20th.

Winners need not be present to win. Tickets are $5 each and sold at the event and by DGT™ Staff and Board Members prior to the event.
We will raffle off four prizes for 10, 20, 30, and 40 bottles of wine. Odds of winning are determined by the number of tickets entered.
Doing Good Together and Metro Meals on Wheels have teamed up to offer a community-wide DGT™ Family Service Fair.
Our open house event will feature a series of fun, kid-friendly service projects focused on fighting local food insecurity and supporting senior citizens in need, including:
Visitors will also learn about opportunities to stay engaged as family changemakers.
Ages: All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate. Come at any point and stay for as long or as little as your schedule allows.
