WELCOME TO DOING GOOD TOGETHER!
President Obama has called for “a new era of responsibility” – a call to service for all Americans to help meet the difficult challenges of the 21st century. And he wasn’t just speaking to adults. When asked why he and his wife, Michelle, included their young daughters in their volunteer efforts – helping out at a Chicago food pantry, assisting American soldiers -- he replied that he wanted the girls "to learn the importance of how fortunate they are and make sure they are giving back.” That’s the message of family volunteering.
Whether you have five minutes or five hours to give, whether you have an infant or a teen, whether you are doing well or only barely getting by in these tough economic times -- your family has a contribution to make. And in the process, you’ll be teaching your children that compassion matters, that hope is alive, and that every one of us must be part of the change we want to see.
Doing Good Together offers the materials and services you need to volunteer with your children easily. We also offer customized assistance for organizations -- including faith communities, schools, nonprofits, civic, community and parent groups -- that want an organized approach to their family service efforts. Explore our website to learn how we can help your family or organization make a difference.
