  • Follow the instructions in this video to fold your squares into origami hearts.

  • Mail your hearts!

Reflection

  • Would you like to receive an origami heart in the mail? How would it make you feel?

  • What else makes you feel better when you’re sick or lonely?

  • What words or pictures can we share to make someone smile? What words or pictures would make you smile?

  • Was there a time when you were having a bad day and someone did something nice for you? How did it feel?

Take it further

  • Set up an origami “station” at home – with paper, envelopes and decorating supplies. When anyone in the family has some down time and wants to spread some cheer, everything will be ready to go.

  • Expand your origami efforts! Practice making paper frogs, turtles, and other creations to spread cheer.

  • Think of other simple, flat items to include with your hearts – stickers, bookmarks, temporary tattoos, etc.
