Broadening Our Reach and Scope

Integration

Doing Good Together (DGT), a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering families to raise children who care and contribute, recently broadened its scope by integrating with Create the Change (CTC). This union will integrate CTC’s valuable digital platform and programs into DGT’s expansive family resources and strengthen efforts to build the next generation of changemakers through volunteering.

Membership

Our membership offerings continue to grow! This year, we continued to work toward improving our membership platform and offerings for new and current DGT Family and DGT Classroom members.

Legacy Society

We embarked upon the process of creating a Legacy Society. We had exceptional guidance and are building a community that embraces kindness and giving back. Check out our new webpage with many ways to give, including planned giving to leave a legacy of support for DGT.

Website Optimization

Over the past year, we have focused on enhancing our website's search engine optimization (SEO) to attract more users to our services. By strategically using keyword data and tailoring our web pages to align with popular searches, we've successfully increased our website traffic by 33%. We now see over 11,000 weekly visitors to our website. These efforts are drawing more families seeking kindness project inspiration, expert advice, kindness challenges, conversation starters and empathy-building book suggestions, all aimed at helping families and caregivers nurture the next generation of leaders in kindness.

Outreach

DGT continues to reach more families through media appearances. In 2023-24, we appeared in several national and local publications, including the Parenting Pickup Podcast from New Horizon Academy, the Best of Both Worlds Podcast, and Minnesota Parent. See the latest.

Festival of Giving

This year’s Festival of Giving featured the authors of the beautiful book Anti-Racist Art Activities for Kids. This workshop provided examples of anti-bias, anti-racist art activities to implement at home and in the community. The lessons shared were designed to empower youth to use their art, actions, and words to create a positive change toward a more just and equitable future. Letter from DGT’s New Executive Director, MiaLisa Millares

Dear Friends, Champions, and Supporters,

As we welcome the new year, all of us at Doing Good Together (DGT) want to share our heartfelt gratitude for your steadfast support. Your generosity and commitment have been the driving force behind our efforts to foster kindness and empathy. This year, we celebrated 20 Years of Kindness in communities – an important and impactful landmark. Together, we’ve achieved remarkable milestones, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

This year, one of our biggest efforts has been negotiating the integration of Create the Change (CTC),  formerly Project Giving Kids, into our programming at DGT. We are excited to utilize and incorporate the tools and resources of CTC and continue our collective mission as we move forward to share kindness with both audiences. This increased reach and scope has been a huge undertaking and will greatly benefit both CTC and DGT supporters.

As part of our efforts, we established the Legacy Society to honor the steadfast commitment of DGT’s dedicated donors. This society offers individuals a meaningful way to support our mission, uphold our goals, and ensure a bright future for DGT, allowing them to continue making a lasting impact.

On the programs side, DGT provided 10 successful Family Service Fairs in the Miami area and seven additional fairs in the Twin Cities along with a presence at several booths, block parties and speaking engagements. These meaningful, intergenerational events are an opportunity for families to serve together in the communities in which they live and work while passing on important values and sharing in meaningful conversations. In the past year alone, over 1500 people participated in Family Service Fairs and countless nonprofits were provided with services to meet current needs.

In addition to the fairs we did in Miami, through our grant from the Al and Jane Nahmad Family Foundation, we created a camp for young people in Miami to learn how to create their own meaningful Family Service Fair.

Over the past year, we’ve expanded our reach by collaborating with several esteemed organizations to develop valuable resources that serve families not just in the United States, but across the globe. These partnerships have enabled us to amplify our impact, bringing our mission of kindness and empathy to more homes worldwide. Among our proudest achievements is the creation of a comprehensive workbook in partnership with Global Peace Women, a resource that provides weekly prompts for Peace Within the Home.

As we reflect on the accomplishments of the past year, we are deeply reminded of the vital role you’ve played in our success.

Thank you for your belief in our mission and ongoing support for DGT. Thank you for your commitment to kindness and empathy.

Thank you for making all of this possible.

In a world that sorely needs more kindness, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you – for standing by us, sharing our vision, and proving that kindness truly has the power to change the world for the good. It is an honor to have you as part of the DGT family. Together, we can create a brighter, kinder world.

With gratitude,

MiaLisa Millares
