Spreading Kindness with My Buddy Bench Project
My Buddy Bench Project was founded by a child with a big heart and an even bigger mission — to spread kindness and create spaces where everyone feels included. It started with a simple idea: What if there was an easy way for kids to signal when they need an invitation to play?
The project places bright, inviting Buddy Benches in schools and parks to help kids connect and build friendships. When someone sits on the bench, it’s a gentle way of saying, “I’d like to talk or play.” It’s a simple tool that encourages children to look out for one another and take that first step toward friendship.
More than just benches, this project is about teaching the power of kindness, empathy, and emotional wellness.
Through fun workshops, stories, and hands-on activities, kids learn how to support one another, speak up with compassion, and understand the importance of mental health.
They’re also encouraged to become leaders in their communities by standing up for what’s right and showing that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
As the movement grows, we’re seeing schools become more inclusive and students more connected. Kids are learning how to care not just for others, but for their own emotional well-being too. My Buddy Bench Project is more than an anti-bullying program — it’s a youth-led mission to build a world where kindness, mental health awareness, and emotional support are part of everyday life.
