Balancing It All in May
As a parent, May is a time when all the activities result in shows, concerts, games, parties and celebrations to showcase the learning children have done all year. It also culminates in exceptionally busy calendars and more to-dos for parents who are already struggling to balance the everyday. In such a busy season, let’s explore some ideas for slowing down, making space, connecting with nature and embracing kindness to ourselves.

ACTION
Nature Scavenger Hunt.
Take some time with your kids to slow down, pack a picnic, enjoy the onset of warm weather and just “be” in nature. We all need some time in nature to reconnect to the outdoors. Take along this cute scavenger hunt to make an afternoon of the activity!
Set a Family Reading Time.
Take time to read mindfulness books together and reflect on the message of the story. We have lots of wonderful books about mindfulness and gratitude that lend themselves nicely to emphasizing the importance of balancing work and play.
Yoga Together.
Gather your family together to do some family yoga inside or outside and enjoy the calming effect of the asanas. Take the time to teach kids the breathwork which proves to be a great life skill.
Make a Mandala.

Volunteer Together.
